Policies, procedures and forms applying to all UBC graduate students may be found on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website. It is important for all UBC graduate students to read and understand all of the FoGS policies and procedures.
The Department of Linguistics also has its own policies, procedures and information, most of which are specific to Ph.D. and M.A. students (these may be found under the Ph.D. requirements and M.A. requirements links, respectively, on this website). Further information (under construction) applicable to all Linguistics graduate students includes:
General/redundant information removed from Ph.D. and M.A. sections of previous graduate handbook (e.g., language requirements)
Financial information for ongoing students (applying for TAships, etc.; additional funds available to graduate students, e.g., conference travel funds, etc.)
Internal policies and procedures concerning extensions, appeals, leaves of absence, "good standing", removal/withdrawal from program
