Through July and August, a group of us are meeting weekly to discuss material in Statistics for Linguistics with R: A Practical Introduction by Stefan Th. Gries. No prior knowledge of quantitative methods is required.

Week 1: Chapter 1 -- Designing hypotheses, identifying variables, data collection/organization, and experimental design
Week 2: Chapter 2 -- Fundamentals of R: syntax, vectors, factors, and data frames
Week 3: Chapter 3.1 -- Descriptive statistics: univariate stats
Week 4: Chapter 3.2 -- Descriptive statistics: bivariate stats
Week 5: Chapter 4.1-2 -- Analytical statistics: distributions, frequencies, and dispersions
Week 6: Chapter 4.3-4 -- Analytical statistics: means, coefficients of correlation, and linear regression
Week 7: Chapter 5.1-2 -- Multifactorial methods: configural frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis
Week 8: Chapter 5.3-5 -- ANOVA, binary logistic regression, and hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis
