Come join us for food, knowledge, and music!

In addition to being an endangered and undocumented language, Nata is spoken in a geographical location (at the edge of the Serengeti in northwestern Tanzania) which exposes it to competition at all levels: ecological, linguistic, cultural, economic, and social.

Joash will provide a brief presentation about the current situation, and also describe a school project that he launched in 2010, namely the "Mugeta Children Centre". The Mugeta centre provides education to children (4-12 years old) who would otherwise not have access to schooling. We would welcome any ideas that people might have about how to fund-raise on behalf of the school, and we'll have a brainstorming session about this.

The afternoon will close with a musical session performed by a Shona ensemble from Zimbabwe.
