Current Research

I am looking at evidentiality in Nuu-chah-nulth (formerly known as Nootka). Different kinds of evidence are encoded in different morphosyntactic positions, and I am interested in how and why these particular meanings map to these particular forms. This is the topic of my dissertation, and I discuss it in more detail in my prospectus [PDF].
