OFFICE HOURS

Henry Davis will be holding undergraduate advising office hours on Mondays from 12:00-1:30pm and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00am in Brock Hall Annex Rm 2351.

Wendy Trigg will be holding undergraduate advising office hours on Tuesday from 1:00-3:00pm and Thursday from 1:00pm - 3:00pm in Brock Hall Annex Rm 2351. PLEASE NOTE: Advising hours on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, will be 1:30pm - 3pm.

If you are unable to make office hours, feel free to contact us to book an appointment. You may also email us any questions that arise.

Useful tools that facilitate doing assignments:

1. If you are a Mac user, the IPA Palette is a very useful way to insert characters into MS Word, etc.: http://www.blugs.com/IPA/

2. If you are a windows user, there is a far less useful program available: IPA Character Map for Windows http://www.davidmontero.net/Linguistics.php

3. If you have not done so, you will need to install Doulos IPA (standard IPA font): http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=DoulosSILfont

4. There's a font for building phonological structures (syllables, feet), but it isn't free, and it's an awkward solution, in my experience: http://www.cascadilla.com/moraic.html

5. PRAAT is a very useful tool.
